I've been looking into this a lot lately, HIIT it's called, high intensity interval training. It is when you go above 80% of your maximum heart rate for a short time, and then twice as long work out at a slower pace, I think. I am going to look into it. The idea of losing weight in such a shorter amount of time is appealing.

Yes, HIIT. High intensity Interval Training. If you google it, you will come on some very helpful youtube videos using treadmills, jump ropes, bikes, etc etc.

It's all about you pacing yourself at your comfortable pace and then 100% energy sperts to increase your heart rate. Here is what I do:

On a treadmill (to help me keep my pace) I jog for a good 2-4 min warm up. Then, I sprint for a good minute and then back down to my jog pace for another min and then keep alternating speeds thru out the workout for a mile distance. Then, I take a break in between miles and do that again 3 more times. It really wears you out cus you are challenging your body to go slow, fast, slow fast. You can also do 30/60s. Jog for 60 secs and then sprint for 30 secs and alternate doing that as well when just running outside.

Hope this helps.

That did help, a lot Jbabs10! I am going to try that...once this snow storm is over. Do you keep track of your heart rate or just kind of estimate?
